Perfect pond care in summer
Pond care in summer
Helpful tips
For weeks we’ve been groaning and sweating in the scorching heat of the German summer. Extremely high extreme temperatures aren’t just a problem for humans…no, nature also suffers in the parching heat. Lawns that were lush and green a few months ago are now dry and brown.
Along with proper plant watering, proper regular pond care is very important in the summer months. Strong sunlight and an ample supply of nutrients encourage algae growth. This has a major impact on the well-being of the fish and plants in your pond.
We recommend taking the following actions in hot periods:
- cut back strongly growing plants
- have the pond pump and -filter running the whole day or non-stop, to supply the pond with enough oxygen to keep it fully aerated
- check pond temperature and water parameters regularly
- observe the fish in the pond, to allow timely preventive action against disease.
